A Thai citizen has reportedly opened fire at a shrine for a Nat (spirit) in a hotel in Hsansai Ward, Tachilek Township in Shan State and fled from the scene.

The accident occurred early this morning in the compound of 1G1 Hotel in the border town and the local police believed the gunman drank alcohol too much at that time. Local police is attempting to track and arrest the suspected shooter who managed to escape from the scene by a black colour car.

An investigation into the case is ongoing and the motive behind the shooting is still unknown.—Yar Say (IPRD)
