Shwegu, 12 February
A ceremony to open a new kindergarten school building was held in the village of Manwein, Shwegu township, Kachin state this morning.
First, the township Rural Development Department head U Yin Khaing and officials cut a ceremonial ribbon to formally open the school and sprinkled scented water on the stone inscription. Then, the township RDD head reported on people-oriented projects under implementation by the department. The village project committee chairman U Aye Naing spoke words of thanks.

The new school building is 30 ft long, 24 ft wide and 12 ft high. The township RDD spent over K 10.51 million on the school construction project while the village people contributed K 170000 to the project.—Kyaw Myo Aung (IPRD)
