Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Win Myat Aye visited youth training school and child care centre in Mawlamyine yesterday.
The Union Minister visited the Mawlamyine Youth Training School where they were explained about the school by its principal and had inspected the hair cutting, welding, computer and agriculture trainings, practicing Myanmar’s traditional martial arts (Myanmar’s Thaing) for physical fitness, construction of a multi-purpose stadium and bedrooms of the trainees.
The Union Minister coordinated with officials the requirements reported by the youths and provided cash assistance to fulfil the current needs of the youth trainees.
The SWRR Union Minister also met with the officials from the New Mon State Party (NMSP) and discussed the conditions of cooperation between the government and the public in the processes of rehabilitating youths who are addicted to drugs.
Afterwards, they visited a training centre for children with special needs, met the centre’s executive members, trainers and children’s parents, and saw training the children.
On their visit to the child care centre of the Department of Social Welfare, the Union Minister and party provided toys and nutrition for the children.
The SWRR Union Minister finally visited the Safe House and encouraged the young women who are given care at the centre.—MNA(Translated by Kyaw Zin Tun)
