Chief Minister of Bago Region U Win Thein attended an inauguration event of a rural bridge on the Layeinsu-Wetlarkwin Road built by the Department of Rural Development this morning.

First, an official from the DRD gave the salient points on the rural bridge. Next, a Buddhist monk, the chief minister and a village administrator formally opened the facility by cutting a ceremonial ribbon. The rural bridge is of a reinforced concrete structure and was built at a cost of Ks. 15 million. Now local people from four villages near the bridge can use the facility in all season with greater ease.

Afterwards, the chief minister and party paid homage to a pagoda and donated offertories to the abbot. In addition they also held a meeting with locals over regional developmental tasks.—Tin Soe (Bago)
