A rural road is under construction in Lelpyin Village, Indaw Township in Sagaing Region and the project is more than 50 percent completed, said an official from the Department of Rural Development.

           

The earthen road is one mile long, 12 ft. wide and 9 inch thick and is being built by a tender winning private company with Ks. 32.27 million allocated by the DRD in the fiscal year 2019-2020. Once completed, the rural road is expected to benefit 279 acres of farmland belonging to 237 people from 44 households in the village, said U Aung Myint Than, Staff Officer of the DRD.—Myo Win Nyo (Kyunhla)
