Informative talks about boosting the production of cotton were held in the house of cotton farmer U Tin Tun in Min Taingpin village in Pale Township, Yinmarbin district, Sagaing region this morning.

The talks began with remarks by U Tun Shein, deputy head of Sagaing Region Agricultural Department. Then, officials from Agricultural Department explained the methods of growing varieties of cotton and the situation of cotton production in the region, responding questions raised by cotton farmers. 


“Farmers are facing climate change and on the other hand, the government cannot lend enough agricultural loans to cotton farmers. So, we organize this event to help cotton farmers to be able to establish links with companies. We want to listen to the voices of cotton farmers and the department is ready to assist them with required technics. I want to ask cotton farmers to get in touch with the department. The agricultural staff will help them”, said U Tun Shein, deputy head of Sagaing Region Agricultural Department.
