Commander in Chief of Defence Servcies Senior General Min Aung Hlaing gave COVID-19 medical supplies to the locals and People’s Hospital in Dawei Township of Taninthayi Region on 14 May.
The meeting at the Dawei Airport was also attended by the senior Tatmadaw officers, local town’s elders and departmental officials.
Town elders received medical supplies for COVID-19 prevention, containment and treatment such as 20,000 surgical masks, 3,000 pairs of surgical gloves, 500 N95 masks, 50 non-contact thermometers, 150 bottles of hand gel, 150 bottles of hand sanitizer, two boxes of bleaching powder, 5,000 masks produced from Tatmadaw factory, and foodstuffs.
For the Dawei People’s hospital, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing presented 10,000 surgical masks, 500 sets of personal protective equipment, 2,000 pairs of surgical gloves, 300 N95 masks, 300 pairs of examination gloves, 100 bottles of hand gel, 100 bottles of hand sanitizer, one box of bleaching powder, three boxes of pulse oxymeter (finger tip), 5,000 masks produced by Tatmadaw factory, and foodstuffs.
In the afternoon, the Senior General and party visited Shwe Wei Thiri Pyinnya Beikman Library in Dawei. They also visited Lawka Marazein Buddha Image and Shwetaungsar Pagoda which are the landmarks of Taninthayi Region.
The Senior General paid homage to the Buddha image in the ancient historic Yahanta ordination hall.
On 14 May morning, the Senior General and party inspected Mawrawadi Naval Region Command in Heinze Township and held meeting with Commander of the Mawrawadi Naval Region Command Commodore Naing Min Kyaw before looking around Heinze area in a motorcade, according to the report from the Office of Commander in Chief of Defence Services.—MNA (Translated by Aung Khin)
