Chinshwehaw, 5 August
49 Myanmar citizens returned from China and they were placed temporarily at an observation camp in Chinshwehaw Township, Northern Shan State.
Swab samples were taken from the returnees and sent to National Lab in Mandalay this morning to check out as to whether they are infected with coronavirus or not. 49 Myanmar citizens—36 men and 13 women—served prison terms in China for violating Chinese Law. They were transferred to Myanmar by Chinese officials through Myanmar counterparts.
The returnees were welcomed by Chairman of the township Covid-19 prevention and control committee Township Administrator U Thet Oo Paing, immigration officials and local authorities at Chinshwehaw border gate.—Zin Zin (IPRD)
