Strong winds hit Oktada Village in Paung Township, Mon State yesterday and damaged 12 houses, two schools and one poultry farm, causing a loss of about K 1.8 million.

Powerful winds flipped over the roofs of nine houses in ward-11 and 12 in ward-14, two schools and one poultry farm, and sent 20 trees crashing down in Oktada Village in the township.

62 victims of powerful winds are currently taking shelter at the homes of their relatives in the villages and are provided with relief supplies by local authorities. But no casualties were reported.—Daw Win Min Than, IPRD
