A ceremony to provide cash aids and relief items to flood victims in Shwegun village in Hlaingbwe Township, Kayin State was held at a monastery in the village this morning.

Speaker of Kayin State Hluttaw U Saw Chit Khin met with flood victims who were evacuated to safety places due to the increase of water level in Thanlwin River on 23 August. Then, the Speaker and officials spoke words of encouragement to the victims and gave foodstuff and cash aids provided by State Government and Department of Disaster Management. Next, the officials also distributed pamphlets on disaster management. 

Present on the occasion were Speaker of Kayin State Hluttaw, officials from State Department of Disaster Management, Township Administrator and officials, according to Township Information and Public Relations Department.
