The water level of Ayeyawady River has surpassed its danger mark in Pakkoku Township, Magway Region, according to the observations 1:30 p.m. on August 26.
According to the observations at 6:30 a.m. today, the water level of Ayeyawady River reached 2154.70 centimeters, four centimeters above of 2150.70 centimeters of its danger mark, the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology said.
Residents and animals in low-lying areas in some residential villages and wards were evacuated to safer locations. The Department of Disaster Management set up a temporary relief camp for flood victims near Uyin Village.
