11 passengers injured as mini-truck overturns in Mogaung

At least 11 passengers were injured after a mini-truck overturned in Mogaung Township, Kachin State on 15 January, according to a source from a local police station.

The accident occurred between mileposts 446 and 447 on the Myitkyina-Shwebo Road in Mogaung Township yesterday. The mini-truck driven by a man named Nawres, 48 years old from Mogaung Township with 11 passengers aboard flipped over after the driver lost control of the vehicle. 11 passengers—8 women and 3 men—were injured in the incident. Out of the injured people, four people sustained serious injuries.

The injured people have been sent to two public hospitals in Myitkyina and Mogaung by two ambulances from local social organizations. In connection with the incident, action has been taken against the motorist over reckless driving by the local police station.—Win Naing (Kachin Land)
