With the aim of road traffic safety, No. 96 Police Traffic Force and TCL Company jointly provided 200 helmets to motorcyclists free of charge near Bogyoke Aung San Park in Meiktila this morning.
The move aims at educating motorbike riders to wear helmets, said Police Captain Yan Naing. MP U Soe Than of regional Hluttaw, District Administrator U Thet Lwin, Township Administrator U Chan Nyein Aung, Police Captain from No. 96 Traffic Police Force, departmental personnel and members of the company participated in the campaign. Then they distributed 200 helmets to motorbike riders who abide by the traffic rules and regulations. In addition, they also conducted awareness discussion on wearing helmets while riding. It is the second of its kind and the first distribution of helmets was conducted on 21 December.
