As many as 3258 acres are projected to be put under summer paddy in Demawso township, Kayah state with a plan to ensure that 1600 acres of summer paddy benefit from Ngwedaung Dam.

Altogether 3258 acres of summer paddy will be cultivated in 12 village-tracts of the township—2873 acres to be irrigated by eight reservoirs including Ngwedaung Dam while 358 acres to be irrigated by other water resources.

The township witnessed the cultivation of 3178 acres of summer paddy in 2017-2018, and it is planned to put 3258 acres under supper paddy this year, according to the Township Agriculture Department.—Reyal (Demawso)
