STUDENTS from the BEHS Dagon 1 com­peted in the Open International Biology Olympic (OIBO) in Sirius, Russia, on the Sirius Federal Territory and won third priz­es individually during the competitions.

 

They arrived back in Yangon yesterday evening, and were welcomed back by Yan­gon Region Social Affairs Minister U Htay Aung, Headmistress Dr Sandar Mya Nyein and teachers, parents and officials holding the State flag, vinyl posters and flowers in their hands.

 

The Open International Biology Olym­piad (OIBO) 2025 is an international biology competition aimed at encouraging students and young people to explore and solve cur­rent issues in biology and biotechnology. It is organized in collaboration with industrial partners to promote international coop­eration and the exchange of experiences. Each participating country competes as a single national team. The students won third prizes in Zoology, Botany and Practical events held from 10 to 17 May.

 

The event took place for seven days in Sochi of Russia, and six Myanmar students from the BEHS Dagon 1 participated in the events. — MNA/KTZH
