I would like to offer some pieces of advice on behalf of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee to 106 monks who won the various levels of 72nd Tipitakadhara Tipitaka Kovida Selection Exam and laypersons, including the government members, at the congratulatory ceremony.

The evil celestial king, Mara, urged the newly Buddha for demise while the latter was residing at the foot of Ajapala bayan tree in Uruvela forest in the 8th week after His Enlightenment.

However, Buddha turned down the Mara’s demand, saying He will not pass away before His disciples learn His teachings and understand the treatises; before they could take practices of purification; before they could teach the Dhamma to others; before they could promote the Dhamma; before they could use the Dhamma to encounter other ideologies.

Buddha Sasana will perpetuate only when qualified monks who can teach treatises of Buddha teachings and prevent other ideologies from coming into the Buddha Sasana.

The winners in 72nd Tipitakadhara Tipitaka Kovida Selection Exam have already studied the treatises from the foundation to the advanced levels; the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee, monks and people have appreciated the success of winning monks who passed all the three categories of Pitaka treaties, two and half categories, two categories and so on.

These monks also need to realize that you have fulfilled the expectation of Buddha to a certain extent and you must enjoy it. Referring to the response of Buddha to the Mara, it can be concluded that the former hoped his disciples to turn the teachings into insight knowledge.

Therefore, all the Buddhist monks are advised to develop practical knowledge from theorical knowledge, only then the monks could enjoy the ultimate benefits of Pariyatti, in terms of Magga and Nibbana.

The laypersons including government members are found to be supporting Buddha Sasana to the highest degree.

The laypersons who are providing material supports and the monks who are the sources of meritorious deeds need to establish interdependent relationships for the perpetuation of Buddha Sasana and to lay stronger foundation for Nibbana that is free from all sufferings. (Translated by Aung Khin)
