Aid given to verified Myanmar nationals from Thailand

A ceremony to welcome and to give aids to the Verified Myanmar nationals from Thailand was held at Zwekapin hall in Hpa-an, Kayin State yesterday.

 


Present at the event were, Chief Minister of Kayin State Daw Nan Khin Htwe Myint, Deputy Minister U Soe Aung, ministers of Kayin state, directors-general and officials.

 


At the event, Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Win Myat Aye said verified Myanmar nationals are warmly welcome. The government now has three goals : rule of law and development of social economy, national reconciliation and internal peace and fostering a constitution suitable for a Federal Union. To realize these aims, ministries are doing their jobs and laws and regulations are being enforced for rule of law in implementing projects, he said.

 


All ethnic peoples returning to the legal fold will have chance to build their own secure lives. The ministries will help with temporary livelihood. Vocational course will be given to them to get jobs. The Union Minister urged the people to collaborate with government to bring about internal peace.

 


Then, Daw Nan Khin Htwe Myint said that she is delighted that the verified Myanmar nationals had peacefully come back to the state. The peaceful secure social system will be handed down from generation to generation. Livelihood support and help to get jobs will be given.

 


Afterwards, Union Minister and the entourage distributed commodities to the verified Myanmar citizens. There were 102 household and each household was given K 125,000 for food and other commodities. Kayin State Red Cross supervisory committee provided them with household materials and family Kit.

 


One verified Myanmar national gave words of thanks to the officials. Afterwards, Union Minister and entourage visited Department of Rehabilitation, Drug Rehabilitation Center and discussed necessities with its officials. Then , he proceeded to Hpa-an Orthopaedic Rehabilitation Centre run by Myanmar Red Cross Society with the help of International Red Cross Committee. —MNA (Translated by Alphonsus)
