Kyaikmaraw 24 January


The construction of Ataran Bridge by Special Bridge Construction Team-14 was started on 14 January and it will be completed in 2020.


The bridge which is 2113 feet and 2 inches long is on the Kawpanaw road in Kyaikmaraw and it is of steel truss type. It bears a load of AASHTO (HS25-44) and its traffic area is 27 feet and 11 inches, facilitated by two 3 feet and three inches pedestrian lanes. It is estimated to cost K 3.5 billion—K 1.5 billion of Union fund and K 2 billion of state fund.


Upon completion, the people will be able to travel between Mon State and Kayin State in a safe and sound manner. The new facility will bring about socioeconomic development of local residents in villages either side of the bridge.
