THE Ayeyawady Foundation, actively involved in relief efforts across earthquake-affected areas, is taking responsibility for restoring the SunU Ponnyashin Pagoda in Sagaing, which was damaged by the recent earthquake.
The foundation began clearing debris and repairing the site using heavy machinery and cranes. Since the earthquake struck on 28 March in Mandalay Region, the Ayeyawady Foundation has been supporting relief, recovery and rebuilding efforts. This includes donating free fuel for rescue equipment and ambulances, refuelling machines on-site, repairing damaged roads, and providing aid to those affected.
The foundation also donated essential supplies such as food, drinking water and personal items, and swiftly built temporary hospitals in Mandalay and Sagaing with a combined capacity of 430 beds for the injured. The foundation continues to work with relevant organizations to clean up and restore affected areas. — Shine Htet Zaw/KZL
