Accompanied by concerned officials, the regional head of the Department of Rural Development (DRD) under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Myo Thein met the trainees from a basic tailoring course being conducted by the department in Letpadan Township, Bago Region on Wednesday.


The DRD official gave words of encouragement to the trainees, urging them to try their best to be able to help increase their family income after the course is completed. The one-month course which started on 14 January is being attended by 25 trainees from 14 villages throughout the township.


The intention of the vocational training course is to create better job opportunities for rural people, thereby facilitating their socioeconomic status, said U Htay Zaw, the Deputy Staff Officer from the DRD.—Zeyar Tun (Gyobingauk)
