BATCH 3 of the On-the-Job Training (OJT) for carpenters specializing in the restoration and maintenance of tradi­tional Inlay stilt houses will commence in the last week of April, according to the My­anmar Construction Entre­preneurs Federation (MCEF).

 

OJT Batch 1 started on 19 February in ThaleU vil­lage, Nyaungshwe Township, and concluded on 20 March. OJT Batch 2 was opened on 3 March and successfully con­cluded on 1 April in Hatpone village.

 

The training covers both theoretical and practi­cal aspects of constructing disaster-resilient wooden houses. Key subjects include disaster-resistant wooden construction techniques, strengthening wooden struc­tures in the Inlay region using bracing techniques, and sys­tematic repair and restoration methods.

 

Each batch accommo­dates 20 trainees, with a total of 60 participants to be trained. The upcoming Batch 3, sched­uled for the last week of April, will last one month.

 

Furthermore, the Myan­mar Construction Entrepre­neurs Federation is currently conducting Batch 2 of an On-the-Job Training (OJT) course for masonry in Mandalay. This programme also trains 20 par­ticipants per session, with a long-term target of reaching 100 trainees. — MT/ZN
