Belarusian Foreign Minister Mr Maxim Ryzhenkov and his delegation visited the Bogyoke market in Yangon yesterday afternoon alongside Yangon Region ministers, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and representatives from the Belarus Honourary Consulate in Yangon. The delegation explored traditional handicrafts, ethnic attire and gold-and-silver-embroidered products on sale.
The Belarusian Foreign Minister and the delegation then toured Yangon City Hall, the Secretariat and Kandawgyi Park in a motorcade. They observed the renovation works at the Karaweik Palace in the park.
Later, the delegation visited the Shwedagon Pagoda in Bahan Township, accompanied by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and members of the Pagoda Board of Trustees. They paid homage to the pagoda and studied its historical background and pilgrimage guidebooks.
Continuing the visit, the Belarusian Foreign Minister and the delegation signed the guestbook and the Pagoda Board of Trustees presented them with a commemorative Shwedagon Pagoda picture and a record book as souvenirs. — MNA/KZL
