A 36-member Bhutanese Roy­al Emergency Medical Team led by Dasho Tashi Wangyal departed for Bhutan by air yes­terday morning as the second batch. Ambassador U Kyaw Htun from the Ministry of For­eign Affairs and officials from the National Disaster Manage­ment Committee saw them off at Nay Pyi Taw Airport.

 

The full Bhutanese med­ical team comprised 87 mem­bers, of whom 51 had already returned to Bhutan the previ­ous day as the first batch. The Bhutanese medical team col­laborated with medical person­nel from the Tatmadaw Medical Corps and professionals from the Ministry of Health, includ­ing specialists, doctors, nurses and other medical staff at the temporary hospital (Paun­glaung) located at Paunglaung Sports Ground in Pyinmana, Nay Pyi Taw.

 

The team provided medi­cal check-ups, treatments, and surgical procedures between 3 and 16 April for people affected by the earthquake. — MNA/ KZL
