Buddha Pujaniya festival of Kyaikkhauk Pagoda to be held

The pagoda board of trustees of Kyaikkhauk Pagoda in Thanlyin Township, Yangon Region will organize the nine-day Buddha Pujaniya festival from 12 to 20 February on a grand scale.

The pagoda board of trustees is planning to include consecration, Paritta recitation ceremony, golden leaf and lighting offering ceremony, meal offering ceremony, traditional Htamane competition, traditional Chinelone contest, traditional Lethwei challenge and funfairs. The Kyaikkhauk Pagoda festival is one of the largest festivals in Myanmar, attracting crowds of pilgrims throughout the country. Over 4,000 stalls exhibiting and selling local products across Myanmar will be seen at the festival.
