A ceremony to provide pregnant women and children below two years old was held at the meeting hall of General Administration Department in the town of Paingkyon, Hlaing Bwe Township, Hpa-an District, Kayin State yesterday morning.
First of all, U Saw Chit Khin, the state Hluttaw speaker delivered an opening speech and the state Minister for Social Affairs clarified the purpose of the provision of cash assistance for pregnant women and children below two years old.
Afterwards, the State Hluttaw Speaker handed over K 166.6 million to the town Administrator for 3822 people including 1787 pregnant women and 2035 children below two years old.
Also present on the occasion were Kayin State Hluttaw Speaker, the state Minister for Social Affairs, the Township Administrator, Paingkyon Administrator, departmental officials, social organizations and locals.—Paingkyon IPRD
