U Than Swe, Deputy Prime Min­ister and Union Minister for For­eign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, received Ms Ma Jia, Ambassador Extraor­dinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Myanmar, yesterday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nay Pyi Taw.

 

During the meeting, they cordially discussed the matters pertaining to the further consoli­dation of the existing Pauk-Phaw relations and implementation of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, to commemorate the 75th Anni­versary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Chi­na’s provision of humanitarian assistance, medical aid and res­cue teams to Myanmar for the affected families and communi­ties, continued support for the Myanmar Government’s effort in the disaster rehabilitation and resettlement programmes in the affected areas in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake, the maintenance of peace and stability, law enforcement and security cooperation along the Myanmar-China border area, China’s continuous construc­tive support towards Myanmar’s development endeavour as well as closer collaboration both in regional and international are­na. — MNA
