Chief Minister of Mandalay Region Dr Zaw Myint Maung, high-ranking officials from Mandalay Region Government, departmental officials, Chairman of Lisu Social Affairs Association U Yime Li and Chairman of Lisu Literature and Culture Committee U Garshi Ya, those from Mandalay-based Ethnic Group attended a get-together dinner to mark Lisu new year held at the Shan Social Affairs Association, Mandalay Region at 6 pm on 7 February.

At the ceremony, the Chief Minister delivered an opening remark and then the Chairman of Lisu Social Affairs Association and the Chairman of Lisu Literature and Culture Committee made the welcoming speeches.

This was followed by the speeches made by Minister of Mandalay Region Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr Soe Than and Chairman of Lisu Association.

The Lisu people hosted the dinner and performed traditional dance and songs of Lisu before posing a documentary photo with those present. –Than Zaw Min (IPRD)
