UNION Minister for Home Affairs and First Vice-Chair of the National Disaster Management Committee Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, and Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement and Second Vice-Chair Dr Soe Win met Mr Marcoluigi Corsi, outgoing UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator and UNICEF Representative to Myanmar, at the Disaster Management Centre guest hall yesterday afternoon.
During the meeting, both sides discussed humanitarian assistance provided by the United Nations and the international community to those affected by earthquakes, the experiences and duties carried out by Mr Corsi during his tenure and the way forward for continued cooperation between Myanmar and the United Nations.
The director-general and relevant officials from the Department of Social Welfare were also present at the meeting. — MNA/KZL
