THE ceremony to commemorate the birthday of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Thailand’s National Day and Thailand’s Father’s Day was held at 5:30 pm yesterday at the Thai Ambassador’s residence at No 94, Pyay Road, Dagon Township, Yangon. Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Planning and Finance U Win Shein and his wife were present on the occasion.
The ceremony first opened with the national anthems of Thailand and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
Mr Mongkol Visitstump, Ambassador of Thailand to Myanmar, delivered a speech.
Afterwards, the Deputy Prime Minister and his wife, and the ambassador and his wife, had a group photo taken with those attending the ceremony.
Then, the guests watched the performances of the Thai cultural troupe.
The ceremony was attended by Union Minister 2 for the SAC Chairman Office U Ko Ko Hlaing, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs U Ko Ko Kyaw, members of the State Administration Council’s Central Advisory Body U Saw Htun Aung Myint, and Dr Banyar Aung Moe, Mayor of Yangon City U Bo Htay, diplomats, UN Resident Coordinators and invitees. — MNA/TS
