THE ceremony to commemo­rate the birthday of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Thai­land’s National Day and Thai­land’s Father’s Day was held at 5:30 pm yesterday at the Thai Ambassador’s residence at No 94, Pyay Road, Dagon Town­ship, Yangon. Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Planning and Finance U Win Shein and his wife were present on the occasion.

 

The ceremony first opened with the national anthems of Thailand and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

 

Mr Mongkol Visitstump, Ambassador of Thailand to Myanmar, delivered a speech.

 

Afterwards, the Deputy Prime Minister and his wife, and the ambassador and his wife, had a group photo taken with those attending the cer­emony.

 

Then, the guests watched the performances of the Thai cultural troupe.

 

The ceremony was attend­ed by Union Minister 2 for the SAC Chairman Office U Ko Ko Hlaing, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs U Ko Ko Kyaw, members of the State Administration Council’s Central Advisory Body U Saw Htun Aung Myint, and Dr Ban­yar Aung Moe, Mayor of Yangon City U Bo Htay, diplomats, UN Resident Coordinators and in­vitees. — MNA/TS
