The Department of Technical and Vocational Education and Training under the Ministry of Education introduced a report that reviews Myanmar TVET system, at the Mingalar Thiri Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.

 

The report was produced by the assistances of GIZ Myanmar and the UNESCO. Union Minister Dr Myo Thein Gyi remarked that the report will surely help the role of TVET put into the National Education Strategic Plan (2021-2030). He also urged the TVET should be implemented by conducting more skill training courses to benefit the respective regions, appointing high capable trainers, cooperating with private sector, supporting innovations with the advantage of digital technologies and making collaborative efforts.

 

The Head of TVET project from GIZ Myanmar Mr Eiko Kauffmann and UNESCO Myanmar Head of Office Ms Min Jeong Kim explained the process of producing the report. Then, officials from the GIZ Myanmar and UNESCO Myanmar handed over the Myanmar TVET System Review books to the Union Minister. A discussion was also made to implement the priority strategies and policies in the report, and to exchange views on sustain- able development of technical and vocational education. The report launching ceremony was also attended by the chairpersons of Pyithu Hluttaw and Amyotha Hluttaw Education Promotion Committees, the members of National Education Policy Commission and the National Curriculum Commission, the Myanmar Rectors’ Committee, officials from the National Academic and Quality Assurance Assessment Committee (NAQAC), the Directors-General of Ministry of Education, Chairman and members of UMFCCI and departmental officials.
