Eight coronavirus cases reported in Magway Region

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Health and Sports at 8 a.m. today, three more people in Magway Region tested positive for coronavirus, bringing the total COVI-19 patients to eight.

           

The coronavirus-positive patients are from Natmauk and Myaing Townships and their age range from 18 to 23 years. “Two Covid-19 patients from Natmauk Township would be sent to Magway Teaching Hospital and another patient from Myaing Township would be transferred to Pakkoku Hospital. They all returned from Yangon and Rakhine State,” said Dr Khin Maung Than, Assistant Director of the Department of Public Health.

           

So far, eight coronavirus cases were reported in Myothit, Taungdwingyi, Thayet, Magway, Aunglan, Natmauk and Myaing Township and three patients were discharged from the hospitals.

           

More than 1,000 people were placed under observation at quarantine centers in Magway Region and samples were taken from 200 of them for virus tests, he added.—Zayatu
