Elephant Camp to be opened for Mann Shwe Settaw Pagoda Festival

An elephant camp will be opened for people to visit the Mann Shwe Settaw Pagoda Festival by elephant-ride in Minbu Township, Magway Region.

 

The elephant camp will be opened with the guidance of Magway regional government on 13 February. It is expected to cost K 30 million and now eight elephants arrived at the camp and seven others will be added. The camp will be opened with 15 elephants and time for riding elephants is designated between 8 am and 11 am. Fee for riding will also be set K 5,000, according to U Hla Than, in-charge of the camp.

 

The camp will be opened on a 60-acre land with 50 acres of forest protection area and 700 acres of pasture land. The camp is at the side of the 8-mile road leadig to Mann Shwe Settaw Pagoda Festival and it is 3 miles away from the pagoda. The visitors will find it easy to reach the resort.
