Opening ceremony of Ethnics Culture Fest and Travel Business promotion festival organized by Myanmar Ethnic Entrepreneurs’ Association (MEEA) was held at Sports and Physical Science Special Guest Hall in Kyaikkasan Grounds, Yangon yesterday evening.

The ceremony starts with students from National University of Arts and Culture, Yangon singing the Ethnics Culture Fest theme song.

Next Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs Nai Thet Lwin delivered an address speaking of the presence of all ethnic nationals and thanked the organizer MEEA committee members and donors who supported the event. The entire world wanted peace and stability and our ethnic nationals who are living in the Union need to be united. All must strive toward establishing a peaceful and stable union, said the Union Minister.

Afterwards Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Ohn Maung said the day’s fest and festival depicts the friendship and unity of ethnic nationals as well as displaying and maintaining the cultures and practices of our ethnic brothers and sisters. In the world today people are displaying their unique and authentic traditions and cultures while maintaining it for long term. They are also displaying these to international tourists.

The diverse and unique traditions and cultures of our 135 ethnic nationals are intangible and tangible cultural heritages that are major travel attraction and resources. Therefore a festival that raises knowledge about Myanmar to the world is a momentous one said the Union Minister U Ohn Maung.
Yangon Region Chief Minister then delivered a speech followed with remarks by MEEA patrons Peace Commission Chairman Dr. Tin Myo Win and Dr. Aung Tun Thet and a speech of thanks by MEEA Chairman U Yawd Sek.

After the speeches, Union Ministers and guests took commemorative photos and were entertained with ethnic national dances and entertainment programs. —MNA (Translated by Zaw Min)
