Kalaw, 27 January
A man died in a fire that broke out in Taungpola village, Aungban village-tract, Kalaw Township, Shan State at about 5 am on 27 January.
Fire fighters led by U Aung Pyae Sone, head of Kalaw Township Fire Service Department and local residents rushed to the scene and put out the fire with one fire engine. The fire was successfully controlled at 5.15 am.
The fire started from embers in the kitchen of a house that belongs to U Maung Kyin, 31, and destroyed the house. U Maung Kyin was killed in the fire.
The local police outpost has opened a case against the house owner over his negligence of fire. –Township (IPRD)
