A fund of K 630 million will be spent on five different projects in the development of Chidwin river, according to Department for Water Resources and Improvement of River System (Nay Pyi Taw).

 

The five different projects include the improvement of the Chindwin river system, the improvement of Mawleik waterway, the improvement of Minkin waterway, the improvement of Ahlon waterwat and the improvement of Shwetachaung-Yezagyo waterway.

 

The project will commence in the first week of February under the arrangement of Sagaing Region Government, which is engaged in the improvement of river systems in the region.

 

Similar projects will be implemented in Kachin State, Mandalay Region, Magway Region and Bago Region with sum allocated out of the Union Funds for the smooth and safe movement of vessels plying along the river.—Ko Min (Indaw)
