THE Global Day, an international cultural festival, was held yesterday at the Communication University of China (CUC) in Beijing. The event aimed to help students explore the diverse cultures, traditions, languages and traditional cuisines of countries around the world while fostering mutual respect and understanding across different cultures.

CUC, one of China’s leading media and communication universities, organizes Global Day annually to give students the opportunity to engage with international cultures. This year’s event featured national flags, traditional costumes and handicrafts from various countries. Cultural booths showcased traditions from Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America. Food stalls offered traditional dishes from countries including Myanmar, China, Russia, Korea, Japan, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Italy, Egypt, Nigeria and Liberia.

The festival also featured music, dance and song performances by international students, as well as exhibitions of Chinese painting and crafts. Students from more than 30 countries currently studying at CUC participated in the event.

Global Day served not only as a joyful and enriching experience for students but also as a platform to enhance intercultural exchange, communication skills and academic cooperation. It also supported China’s international education outreach by creating opportunities for global engagement and deeper cultural awareness. — Lin Lin/KZL
