THE graduation ceremony for the People’s Military Service Training 7 was held yesterday morning at the No 1 Tatmadaw Advanced Training Depot in Chingon Village, Taikkyi Town­ship, Yangon Region. Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and relevant officials at­tended the event.

 

The ceremony commenced with the commandant and graduating companies pay­ing respects to the national flag. The commandant then received the salute from the graduating companies and con­ducted an inspection, followed by the oath-taking ceremony of the Tatmadaw personnel from the graduating companies.

 

The commandant then pre­sented various awards includ­ing the Best Trainee Award, Outstanding Military Training Award, Sharp shooter Award, Soldierly Conduct Award, Mine handling Award, section fighting, combatting and Best Dormitory Award to deserving trainees.

 

Following the awards pres­entation, Brig-Gen Myo Min Than, the commandant of the local training depot delivered an opening speech.

 

He stated that the Tatmad­aw was established alongside Myanmar’s struggle for inde­pendence and remains com­mitted to its national duty, up­holding the Our Three Main National Causes. He empha­sized that Tatmadaw compris­ing all ethnic groups has upheld its historical traditions since its founding on 27 December 1941 as the Burma Independence Army (BIA). He noted that, despite political instability, foreign invasions and internal armed insurgencies, the Tat­madaw has always stood firm to protect national sovereignty and ensure the security of the people’s socioeconomic lives, a fact well recorded in histo­ry. He urged the graduates to continue the noble traditions of the Tatmadaw, uphold the Four Oaths and strive to become re­liable soldiers for the future of the Tatmadaw and the nation.

 

The ceremony concluded with a military parade in which the graduating companies sa­luted the school principal. Dur­ing the training, the trainees received lecture in physical fit­ness, military drills, small arms training, tactics and strategy, battlefield engineering, field administration and general subjects. — Hsan Kyaw Oo (IPRD)/KZL
