A ceremony to launch a hostel for girls from remote areas took place in the compound of a monastery in Kamamoung Town, Kayin State this morning.
The 150 ft. long, 30 ft. wide one-storey structure was built with Ks. 200 million in which Ks. 50 million was contributed by Mr. William Henry Taylon, an official from the Southeast Asia Education Foundation and Ks. 135 million was donated by a prominent Buddhist monk and his disciples.
The facility was opened by the monk, the US donor and the township administrator U Aung Myo Thant by cutting a ceremonial ribbon.—Kamamoung IPRD
