IDPs from Mongton repatriated to their homes

Those who fled their villages in Mongpan Township to Mongton Township were handed over to No. 294 Light Infantry Regiment in Mongpan by the group led by Mongton Tactical Operations Commander Colonel Aung Naing Oo, Mongsat District deputy commissioner U Nay Myo Aung, Commander of Mongsat District MPF Police Lt-Col Saw Zeyar Lin, Mongton Township administrator U Nay Aung and departmental personnel.

They were welcomed by Linkhae District Based Tactical Operations Commander Col Aung Zaw Htwe and departmental officials at the regiment.  A total of 309 including seven monks were accommodated at the regiment and provided 30 bags of rice, 34 packages of clothing, 310 bags of noodles, 65 packages of drinking water and a package of candles and lighters.

 

Under the arrangement of the Linkhae District Based Tactical Operations Commander, the refugees were furnished food, medical services and security before being repatriated to their homes on 18 January.
