24 March

A ceremony was held at Kyeintali Town football ground yesterday morning on the occasion of 24 hours round-the-clock electricity supply from the national grid.

In delivering an opening speech to the ceremony Chief Minister U Nyi Pu said the day’s event was a realization of expectations. State Counsellor had remarked that basic infrastructures were to be fulfilled as a priority for a country or a region to develop. Therefore the State government had prioritized basic infrastructure works such as construction of roads and bridges and provision of electricity and water. Due to this all can see the visible progresses being made and more efforts will be made toward regional development works said the Chief Minister.

All towns in the state were now being provided with electricity and it was a great pleasure to see the happiness of the people for this. The expectation was to achieve progress and development through effective usage of electricity. Relevant departments would also need to inform and educate the people of the dangers in using electricity. The Union Government and ministerial departments that had assisted toward acquiring electricity were thanked on behalf of Rakhine State said the Chief Minister.

Next, state minister U Aung Kyaw Zan explained about works conducted to provide 24 hours round-the-clock electricity supply to Kyeintali Town. Afterwards Hluttaw representative U Soe Win and a town elder spoke words of thanks. The ceremony commemorating the provision of 24 hours round-the-clock electricity supply to Kyeintali Town was then formerly started by the Chief Minister and officials who cut a ceremonial ribbon.

This was then followed by Chief Minister U Nyi Pu pressing a button to start the distribution of 24 hour round-the-clock electricity supply. Laying of a 43.34 miles long 11 KV Gwa-Kyeintali power line was completed in March 2019 and 24 hour round-the-clock electricity supply had been provided to 1,303 households in Kyeintali Town and 1,594 households in nearby villages. — Myo Thu Tun (Translated by Zaw Min)
