Migrant workers without proper documents repatriated

Twelve Myanmar migrant worker who were laboring in Thailand illegally were sent back home today.

 

The hand-over of the workers took place this evening at No. 2 Friendship Bridge in Tachilek, Shan State in which Thai officials handed over the workers to Myanmar authorities.

 

Myanmar migrant workers were sent back to the country when they were found to be working in Thailand illegally and thence transported to their natives.

 

The hand-over was facilitated by the Township General Administration Department, the Labour, Immigration and Population Department, Anti-Human Trafficking Police Force and CNCMC.

 

From 1 to 24 January, the number of workers who were handed over from Thailand to Myanmar is 140—90 men, 46 women and four children.—Sai Aung Zaw Lin (IPRD)
