THE Ministry of Border Affairs organized a mass fish release ceremony as a merit-making event at the Mingala Lake in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning, coinciding with the first day of the Myanmar New Year.
The event saw Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae who is also a State Administration Council Member, his wife, Deputy Minister Maj- Gen Phyo Thant and his wife, the permanent secretary and his wife, the director-general and his wife, deputy directors-general and their wives, assistant secretaries and directors along with their spouses and staff families.
Led by the Union minister and his wife, a total of 10,000 fish were released into the Mingala Lake as an act of charity under the spirit of the Myanmar New Year’s merit-making tradition. — MNA/KZL
