THE Ministry of Border Affairs organized a mass fish release ceremony as a merit-making event at the Mingala Lake in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning, co­inciding with the first day of the Myanmar New Year.

 

The event saw Union Min­ister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae who is also a State Ad­ministration Council Member, his wife, Deputy Minister Maj- Gen Phyo Thant and his wife, the permanent secretary and his wife, the director-general and his wife, deputy directors-general and their wives, assistant sec­retaries and directors along with their spouses and staff families.

 

Led by the Union minister and his wife, a total of 10,000 fish were released into the Mingala Lake as an act of charity under the spirit of the Myanmar New Year’s merit-making tradition. — MNA/KZL
