UNION Minister for Industry Dr Charlie Than arrived yesterday morning at No 8 Garment Factory in Pyawbwe Township, Mandalay Region, to inspect the repair works on buildings, equipment, and the transformer damaged by the earthquake.
He met with employees to discuss the importance of factory officials planning ahead to minimize losses from unforeseen natural disasters, systematically recording and conducting equipment repair work, emphasizing occupational safety during maintenance, continuously supervising and inspecting to prevent damage to fixed assets, and making concerted efforts to resume production at the factory as soon as possible.
After visiting the No 8 Garment Factory branch in Yamethin Township to inspect earthquake damage, the Union minister instructed that machinery and equipment be repaired according to specifications and practical plans be developed to resume factory operations. — MNA/TH
