Myanmar Parachute Federation central executive committee member U Kyaw Soe Aung said our organization and Thailand based ASEAN Paramotoring Club (FLY ASEAN) jointly organized a friendship paramotoring demonstration in the vicinity of Taungthaman Lake and Amarapura Township, Mandalay Region yesterday morning.
The demonstration was conducted by four paramotoring experts from ASEAN Paramotoring Club (FLY ASEAN) and four paramotoring experts from Myanmar. The paramotoring experts took-off from Shanlaykyun Village, flew along the Ayeyawady River, vicinity of Taungthaman Lake and Amarapura Township and landed back in Shanlaykyun Village.
“ASEAN Paramotoring Club contacted officials from Myanmar Parachute Federation and arranged this demonstration as a friendship program. It was conducted to share expertise and experience and to build friendship among sports personnel of ASEAN countries and to observe the natural beauty of Myanmar from the sky. As this demonstration simultaneously show the world the natural beauty of Myanmar, it will be beneficial for the travel sector. We started test flights in the vicinity of Taungthaman Lake since 17 January,” said U Kyaw Soe Aung.
After the demonstration flights the demonstration team presented aviation support materials, education and sports materials to Shanlaykyun Village school headmistress Daw Thet Thet. The demonstration team will fly to PyinOoLwin, Saytalone Village on 19 January and from Nawnghkio sports ground to Nawngpane Village on 20 January again and at schools in Saytalone and Nawngpane villages the demonstration team will present some education materials and model planes.
The day’s friendship paramotoring demonstration was conducted with the permission of the relevant region government and the flight paths were underneath an altitude of 3,000 ft. in order not to be of any obstruction or hazards to airplane routes.—Min Htat Aung (Mann Sub-Printing House) (Translated by Zaw Min)
