Myanmar face 0-5 loss to Japan at World Cup Qualifiers

Myanmar suffered a 0-5 defeat to Japan during the second round World Cup qualifiers at the Panasonic Stadium Suita, Suita City, Osaka, Japan yesterday.

Team Japan launched a superb attack from the start while Myanmar stayed at the bottom line for a missive defence.

Even though Myanmar played hard and blocked consciously, Japan broke the deadlock at 11 minutes, netted by Ayase Ueda over the assist of Takumi Minamino.

The goal didn’t stop and Japan scored a second goal at 27 minutes by Daichi Kamada over the assist of Ao Tanaka. Next, team Japan made the third at 45+4 minutes with the assist of Ayase Ueda.

The three-goal result is enough to wear big smiles for team Japan at the end of the first half.

The second half became a better game with the Myanmar team’s compact defensive style.

However, the team in Myanmar allowed Japan to score more goals because of the gap in their playing skills.

Ayase Ueda produced a fourth goal at 50 minutes over the assist of Takumi Minamino while Ritsu Doan finished the sixth at 86 minutes with Hidemasa Morita’s assist.

After the stunning finish, Japan secured a solid win over Myanmar, bagging full points, hoping for the best position in the group to go to the next stage in the second round of World Cup qualifiers. — KZL
