Myanmar girls’ football team to play friendly against Australia team next month

IN preparation for the 2019 AFC U-16 Women's Championship qualification, Myanmar’s U-16 female football team will receive training in Gold Coast town in Australia next month, followed by playing friendly matches, according to the Myanmar Football Federation.

 

During the trip, the team’s training session will last 10 days, starting from 9 to 19 February. 

 

Within the training period, the team will play two friendly matches against the Australia U-16 national female football team. The MFF is also trying to arrange matches with local Australian women’s football clubs, said an official from MFF.

 

The Myanmar young female football squad will be led by its head coach, Daw San San Thein. There will be 23 players, who will be leaving for Australia to train and play test matches, said officials.

 

The purpose of the trip is to prepare the team for the 2019 AFC U-16 Women's Championship qualification, which will be held in Mandalay, Myanmar from 27 February to 3 March, and Myanmar will be taking on Asian football giant Chian girl’s team, the Philippines team and a team from Bangladesh.—Lynn Thit (Tgi)
