National Education Policy Commission and Myanmar Rectors’ Committee held an event to share experiences at the Yangon University Convocation Hall yesterday morning.

 


The Chairman of National Education Policy Commission, Dr Myo Kywal, and the Chairman of Myanmar Rectors’ Committee, Dr Zaw Wai Soe, delivered keynote speeches.

 


Then, Rector of University of Information Technology, Dr Saw Sander Aye discussed under the title of Teaching for Tomorrow, Rector of Computer Science, Daw Mi Mi Thet Lwin under “ Effect of Digitalization on Higher Education”, Rector of University of Community Health, Dr Htin Zaw Soe “ Internationalization”, Rector of GTU Thanlyin, Dr Thingyi “ Comprehensive University”, Rector of University of Nursing, Yangon, Dr Myat Thandar “ Internal Quality Assurance” and Rector of MU (1) Dr Zaw Wai Soe “ Capacity Building in Universities”.

 


Then, Union Minister for Education, Dr Myo Thein Gyi called for effective coordination with the Students Union and University Teachers’ Union on bringing about quality education, holding sporting events, collaborating with private sector, opening graduate courses such as tourism management and fish farming, competence based recruiting, transferring and promoting teachers, launching website, signing up for a university course with e-payment, reforming distance university education and speeding up collaboration with international organization.

 


Next, there was group discussion and the representatives of each group presented the outcomes of their discussions.

 


Then, Professor Dr Aung Tun Thet discussed under the topic of Education 4.0 and Industrial Revolution (IR 4.0).
