Myanmar-Thai Friendship Bridge 1 accepts over a thousand returning citizens

The Myanmar-Thai Friendship Bridge 1 in Tachilek, Shan State, was closed on 23 March but continued to accept and screen Myanmar migrant workers returning from Thailand, with over 90 having returned on 27 March.
 

Myanmar nationals were allowed to return from Thailand after an agreement was reached between both nations and over a thousand citizens have returned so far.
 

Over 90 Myanmar nationals returned illegally on 23 March and although some of them were suspected for COVID-19, lab tests by the Ministry of Health and Sports showed they were not infected.
 

Meanwhile, 43 Thai nationals returned to Thailand from Myanmar on 26 March and 10 more returned yesterday.
 

The health department of the Thai border town of Mae Sai, which border with Tachilek, reported at 2p.m. yesterday that a man and a woman from two of its wards have COVID-19.—Yar Say
