IN order to support the rehabilitation of areas affected by the major Mandalay earthquake, fairs of construction materials at affordable prices will be held in Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay, and Sagaing cities, said Dr Kaythi Lwin, Chair of Myanmar Iron and Steel Association.

The fair of construction materials will take place at Taboung Ground in Nay Pyi Taw from 12 to 27 May.

“Construction materials aren’t sufficient in the market. They’re scarce. Prices are also high. That’s why the government is going to organize the first-ever construction materials fair in Nay Pyi Taw, where materials can be conveniently and affordably purchased at fair prices. There will be iron and steel products, cement, and various home-building materials. All the materials needed to build a house will be sold in Taboung Ground in Nay Pyi Taw. It will be held for the first time in Nay Pyi Taw. The products won’t be sold directly. Only sample products will be displayed, and the agents will handle the sales. Orders will be fulfilled depending on how much is in stock. If the items are out of stock or sold out, we will report to the government,” said the chair.
