THE Aye Thingyan festival was cel­ebrated in Nay Pyi Taw in accord­ance with Myanmar traditional cul­tures, and the people participated on Thingyan-Atet Day peacefully, whereas the donors donated food.

 

Union Minister for Informa­tion U Maung Maung Ohn and his wife also donated juice and food for the people participating in Nay Pyi Taw Walking Thingyan festival area, and extended greetings to the people.

 

Similarly, the donors donated various snacks and Myanmar tra­ditional snacks on each of Thingyan days. The donated snacks were enough to offer to all those partici­pated in Nay Pyi Taw Aye Thingyan festival, and the people enjoyed the food adequately.

 

The people in Nay Pyi Taw participated in Thingyan festival aiming to leave the sins of the pre­vious year and welcome the new things in new year period.

 

The Thingyan water can calm the mind of people and the lov­ing-kindness of donors can support the people despite the Mandalay earthquake that occurred in the old Myanmar year.

 

Moreover, the government and its people gained new mindset and strength in the New Year for reha­bilitation and national-building pro­cesses. Moreover, such action can be a supportive measures to gain achievements in social, economic and education sectors, according to the youths who participated in the Thingyan festival. — MNA/KTZH
